You can do exactly that via DBMS_STATS.SET_TABLE_PREFS( <owner>, <table>, pname=> 'STALE_PERCENT', pvalue=>'5'); http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e16760/d_stats.htm#BEIBJJHC
