Or run the alter user statement on all nodes?

Yes standard operation. Don't change sys password unless you want to copy the orapwd file to all of the nodes every time you change it.

11g RAC orapw file issue- RAC nodes not updated

Has anybody run into this problem before ? 11g R2 Grid home, 11g R1 RDBMS home, 5 node RAC cluster with DataGuard to anther RAC cluster.
Default user profile has a pw expiration. I run "alter user sys identified by xxxx" to update pw, same for system. Local machine is fine but the other nodes on the local RAC cluster do not get their "orapwd" files updated, so DG starts to misbehave. Keep in mind, I am aware of orapwd problems with remote DG issues, but this is for the local orapwd on the local cluster. ?? Each node has its own $ORACLE_HOME.
Is this a bug ? I have never run into this issue before with 10g RAC. i0zX+?n{+i^
