Well, I'd go with Intel every single day and twice on Sunday - but I wouldn't buy it from Sun. Get the same config from Dell for a lot less money. Quick website spec shows:  

Sun 4450 with slower procs but same RAM: 27k on the website

Dell R905 with 4 x quad-core 2.7GHz opterons, same ram: 15k off the website.  

Almost half.
