Yes we do have different unix accounts for most databases. It's not 100%. Why
do different crontabs make for more difficult matintenance?
For new databases, we are moving to a virtualized environment (Solaris Zones, AIX LPARs), so in that case everyting is separated even more. The problems we have with that are related to monitoring performance, since we don't have root access or a login to the global zone (I think that's what they call it).
