In all fairness, Alex's motives are precisely about "giving a better solution". When he finds flaws, he responsibly reports them to Oracle so that they can be fixed. He informs them of what he has found, why it's a problem and what they can do to address the issue and hopefully effect change in the Oracle development processes to prevent the same class of flaws from re-occuring in the code in the future.

Alex used to work for Oracle in Germany and now runs a Oracle security consultancy - so it's his job to keep ahead of the curve when it comes to issues that weaken the security posture of the RDBMS.

I hope this provides you with some context behind Alex's work.
