Just in the nick of time i solved it.. This is what needs to be done.

CMCTL> administer cman
Current instance cman is not yet started. Connections refer to (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=cmanhost)(port=1630). The command completed successfully.
CMCTL> startup cman
NL-00858: wrong number (0 needed) of arguments to "startup" CMCTL> startup

It starts successfully.
