Hi,

Ok since I am idle some of the idle events are mentioned in the Performance Manual

http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10752/instance_tune.htm#16571

Section:

Idle Wait Events

Also from the Reference Manual

http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10755/waitevents004.htm#i970960

under each event it is mentioned whether the event is idle or not.

E.g pmon timer

This is the main wait event for PMON. When PMON is idle, it is waiting on this event.

Regards,

Fairlie

Hi,

You can see them all in the Oracle 9i Reference Manual. it includes every wait event that Oracle processes can ever wait for.

Appendix A 'Oracle Wait Events'

if you can't see the wait event here, then it doesn't exist :-)

well, then there are some wait events like

'KJCTS: waiting for tickets' which was introduced in 9.0.1 but never made it into any documentation or external notes...

But, the reference manual is more than enough even for the most advanced DBA. cheers
