I thought you might not be on RAC _after_ I sent my last message. Too late, sorry. :-)
The only other thing I can think, and I read on Metalink, is to look at the dbca install message log and see what its doing when it hangs. You probably already did that, but I figured i'd mention it too.
I have scripts to wipe and restart from scratch. Not very scientific, but sometimes quicker than trying to debug a botched install(er).
Again, if all else fails, I've found some systems do not work with ASMLib so I go with raw instead and ASM on raw has worked fine. So I suggest you also do the raw configuration at least once, then decide if ASMLib is worth it.
