Subject: Security patch install tip
List - If you must install the new Oracle Security Patch on one of your
servers this weekend, be aware that opatch relinks your oracle binary. =
Years
ago it was considered a good practice to relink oracle when you =
installed
it, but some of us have gotten lazy since Oracle provides binaries =
already
linked today. In my case, I have 64-bit Oracle on Solaris, but my
LD_LIBRARY_PATH was pointing to some 32-bit directories. Enough said, =
just
hope this tip helps somebody get home faster this weekend. Also, =
Metalink
says the Florida support center is evacuated so don't file any TARs that
aren't severity 1.
