Where I work there are two schools of thought on this. One says "exactly the same as e-Business suite". Another says "last changed by, timestamp and row status flag". I like this second one: simple and just about covers everything.

well nowadays a prod system should really be using archiving. No matter what. I know a few that aren't but they are in older Oracle versions and are really small dbs that can have a daily export done in no time at all. Yet: it is a requirement.
