Data Guard Protection Modes

Dear List,



I did follow Metalink "Doc ID:  Note:186150.1", but I don't see any step to
configure "Data Guard


Protection Modes".



Could someone please shed some light on how to choose between "Maximum
protection" and


"Maximum availability" while configuring Data Guard? What is the parameter I
need to use?
