That is my understanding; we license our standby database server but not = the drc site; the drc site is brought up only a couple times per year = for testing; we ftp hotbackup files daily and archivelogs hourly to the = drc site, this was okayed by Oracle.

Guys,

Our rep. says that Oracle considers "active" to be updating a standby =
=3D

database with logs on a regular basis. Whereas, I consider it to be the =
=3D

database being used by end-users for some business requirement. What is =
=3D

everyone's experience with licensing a DR site????

In this article it states Oracle does not charge for backup database =3D server unless it is used over 10 days a year.
