Some of the thoughts we have encountered are:

• Will this application be able to support new versions of Oracle at the same time as others? This is sometimes easier with in-house development than with 3rd party apps. If you put a new application into a shared database and one of the apps needs a database upgrade to resolve a bug, all other apps in that database will also need to be upgraded at the same time.
• Budget issues. If one application has certain budgetary restrictions, will they "share" the cost of a server with other applications or will there be "discussions" with regard to who pays for machine upgrades, support costs, etc.
• DB Management issues. Usually easier to manage 1 database instead of 3, but if databases have different demands on the db, it can be more challenging to tune separately.

Programmers from different kind of application asked the damagement to

create a new database.
Other programmers for a new small application will do the same. I want to make a Checklist and/or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all
programmers and damagement about when to create a new database or just use a
new schema in an existing database (Development and Production). Do you have that Checklist or SOP ?
