Have you tried to press F7 when you have a command history in command
prompt/sqlplus?
It's quite powerful way for recalling old commands, it can even distinguish
commands entered in different programs - it keeps different history for
cmd.exe and sqlplus.exe commands for example.
I think I'll try to get cmd.exe running with wine under linux some day ;)
