To my great embarrassment I have to confess of never seeing/dealing with WinDOHs service I could not 'slaughter' by aiming/hitting it at its knees first and I've been dealing with this crap more than I'd want to remember. Live a day, learn new thing I guess...

By the way, software that does this to you - mess up with registry permissions, does not de-install clean, etc. is definitely the evil one and as such does not deserve to be tried again. Ever. At this point you are most likely looking at prospect of full, fresh, from-scratch install to shake it off. Been there, done this too many times... My sympathies.
