Oracle Agent and AIX

This question has been asked before. After nearly a month of floundering with Oracle support we still cannot start the 9.2 agent on AIX 5.1 servers. We actually were successful once, but a restart failed.

Oracle has not been much help. I don't think AIX is their area of expertise.

This really looks like something OS specific but no one can identify exactly what. Any ideas or esperiences.
