Chris,
Use MetaLink Note # 119164.1 to determine which characters sets are candidates for conversion from US7ASCII.
Note # 225912.1 is an overview of character set conversion.
66320.1 maybe useful as well.
150091.1 is an NLS FAQ, with an overwhelming amount of NLS info.

Please respond to ORACLE-L
To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L <ORACLE-L_at_fatcity.com> cc: Subject: New Character set Hi everyone, I have a base in US7ASCII and I need to convert it to an 8 bit ASCIIset. We have a need to store things like a degree sign and other ASCII characters that are not in the US7ASCII set. What I was wondering is if there is a recommended 8 bit ASCII character set or should I just pick one? It is an Oracle 8 base on hp-ux 10.2. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance
