So what kind of services is Oracle providing through this 4k per month? If there is a small project, and you are overwhelmed. Can you give it to Oracle to do it for you? Will Oracle be flexiable enough to do all the things
you can ask your Jr DBA to do? I don't think so. So do just look at the cost
but look at the returns as well.

Hi.

Manager and myself were debating over this issues for quite few days now....

We were planning to hire a junior DBA, but Oracle Sales repersentatives are justifying us that we dont need one, as they can provide 24x7 DBA support for $4K per month which works out to be $48k per year, lot cheaper than hiring a DBA.

Anybody have any experience with this type of support.

Would like to hear from your experiences.
