Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: RMAN or SQLBacktrack?
We converted from SQLBacktrack to RMAN. RMAN is a very robust product, and
offers more features that SQLBacktrack. In fact, SQLBacktrack I've heard
will simply become a front end to RMAN in the future. Why pay for something
with less functionality?
As someone already said, if you are running 7, RMAN won't work.
Cheers!

We have been using SQLBacktrack to backup our databases on Unix and NT for several years. We have been VERY please with the product. We have a mixture of Oracle 8.1.7 and 7.3.4 databases. We are being pushed to use RMAN because it is free. Does anyone have any experience with both and be willing to share their experiences?
Thanks!
R. Smith
