Pick one of the perplexing issues presented on this list and work through a
solution. You can spread the task out over a period of time.
Pick up an advanced Tuning (Perf 101) or Backup and Recovery book and read a
chapter.
Hit one of the advanced websites, download a paper and read it thoroughly.
Find something you don't agree with and put together arguements/tests for
each side.
Pick a topic you would like to learn more about and commit to presenting or
writing about it to your local user group in 6 months. Make certain that
every statement/command in the article/presentation has been personally
tested by you. That's how you REALLY learn!

I am looking for suggestions on how to brush up my skills and continue
learning on a regular basis.
Large blocks of "free time" are hard to come by, but if I had only 30
minutes (or an hour) a day, what would you recommend?
