Steve, The GFS is certified for both 9.0.1 and 9.2.0
but it will depend on the version of Linux and HW
vendor you are using. It is my understanding that
Redhat AS 2.1 doesn't support direct I/O but RH 7.1
and all versions of SUSE (including SLES) do support
direct I/O (not Sure about Rh 7.2 or 7.3). The other
issue the HW vendor, DELL's certified cluster
configuration only supports RH 7.1 and Oracle 9.0.1
RAC and should support AS 2.1 and 9.2 RAC sometime in
September. I am not sure about Compaq intel clusters
becuase I only have Dell 6450's and the EMC FC4700
SAN. I am currently working with Sistina to get their
GFS but I do not have it installed at this time. I am
not sure when AS 2.1 will support direct I/O but I
know Oracle and Sistina are working with RH on this
issue.
I am also using RAC 9.0.1 and 9.2.0 on SUN clusters
using the new Veritas CFS and I am happy with the
Veritas DBE/AC product and SUN configuration.
I am a Linux fan but in my opinion, getting Intel
certified clusters with various versions of Oracle and
Linux is harder than getting HP, Compaq Tur64 (HP?) or
SUN certified cluster configurations for Oracle.
