Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Installing Oracle 9i Developer suite
Stephane,
I imagine they ("assistive technologies such as screen readers") would be programs / hardware that convert what is on the screen into say voice or Braille.
Used by say visually impaired people, people who can't read and others.
That is, they assist people who can't see or interpret the information that is normally shown on the screen.
Hope this is correct & helps,
Bruce Reardon

I'm installing Oracle 9i Developper suite on winXP and
the doc says :
If you use assistive technologies such as screen
readers to work with Java-based applications and
applets, run access_setup.bat before starting your
screen reader.
What the hell is "assistive technologies such as screen readers" ????
