i'm getting larger and larger db dumps from clients that i need to import
into local db's . . . dump appoaching 3Gb (only the one schem I need).
Looking for ways to speed up import . . . tried playing with buffer size and commit=y, but not much luck. Also tried delaying index creation, which helps some . . .
running 8.1.7.2 on solaris 8 - single cpu, depending on the box anywhere from 2 - 4 Gb RAM
