Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> THANKS Re: problem in creating control file?
I want to thank to everyone on the list for their replies for my problem. I lastly managed the problem and cloned a new db .
But I have seen an important thing and I want to share with you. You can be careful about it...
THe original database was in archive log mode. It is very problematic to clone a new database in archive log mode. It gives errors at open with resetlogs stage. Tells that it needs mmore recovery for system datafile. But the archive log file it wants is not still available even will be the next archive log file. So I have lastly commented the lines of archive log mode parameters in the new init.ora file and created the control file with these options: SET , RESETLOGS and NOARCHIVEMODE Then every thing was ok . And then changed the new db to archive llog mode.

CREATE CONTROLFILE DATABASE "TEST2" RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG
MAXLOGFILES 32 MAXLOGMEMBERS 2 MAXDATAFILES 254 MAXINSTANCES 1 MAXLOGHISTORY 1815
GROUP 1 'D:\yedek123\REDO01.LOG' SIZE 1M, GROUP 2 'D:\yedek123\REDO02.LOG' SIZE 1M, GROUP 3 'D:\yedek123\REDO03.LOG' SIZE 1MDATAFILE
CREATE CONTROLFILE DATABASE "TEST2" RESETLOGS ARCHIVELOG
*
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-01161: database name TESTDB in file header does not match given name of TE
ST2
ORA-01110: data file 1: 'D:\yedek123\SYSTEM01.DBF'
