Oracle-L: distributed transaction fails

Hi,

We are running query which involves about 15 branches in the transaction. Parameter DISTRIBUTED_TRANSACTION is set to 50 but the transaction fails if branches are more than 8.
if i put parameter MAX_TRANSACTION_BRANCHES=32 the transaction works fine. Since this parameter is obsolete from 8i what is the new parameter.
