Hi All,
I'm testing and planning implemetation of oracle names and would like some advice/pointers/gotcha's to put into my plan for damagement.
Main reason:
Ease of maintenance (We now have tnsnames file all over the place)
Planned setup:
Two names servers both in physically seperated locations (more if needed
for performance reasons).
One database to store all data (no need to synchronise anymore) on one of
our systems with failover (EMC storage). Failover has been tested and works
OK Down time is very short.
Questions:
Is this setup a situation that can live up to real world action?? Anybody
having similar setup?
Any gotcha's I should be aware of (I have this running on a laptop and a
desktop and it looks fine but....)
What are the security issues I should be aware of (everybody can connect to
every database with just the name of the databasse)
Does anybody have a PRO/CON list already
TIA Jack
