Howdy Jared,
We are doing failover from one server/instance to
another. This is one of those consultant projects
where the architecture was determined before the DBAs
were invited to the party. Funny, more of it does not
work than does.
We are having a meeting tomorrow which may lead us to
9i RAC. Whether we can rebuild this project in 9i is
an open question. Especially, using AIX.
This should work - put FAILOVER = ON in the tnsnames
file and set up the parameters for both servers. It
is the service name part that is failing.
