Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: column comments for v$ and x$ tables
srinvias,
Do you have the Oracle Reference Manual? If you look for the descriptions of each of the v$ views, they give all the info you are looking for. The x$ ones are not listed though..

Hi lists
Is there a way to see the description of the column, means what value the
column stores
for v$, x$ tables.
eg: desc v$session
we will see the column like...
SADDR
SID
SERIAL#
AUDSID
PADDR
USER#
USERNAME
COMMAND
OWNERID
TADDR
SQL_ADDRESS
SQL_HASH_VALUE
PREV_SQL_ADDR
PREV_HASH_VALUE
MODULE
MODULE_HASH
how to find out what the column is and what value it stores.
i cannot find anything in dba_col_comments.
thanx in advance,
srinvias
