I
can't remember the details off hand (need to dig up some old notes), but I
believe I have done something like this to help deal with private database links
on an import. Objects with private database links imbedded in them are a big
mess on imports. I remember creating public links with the same link name using
'dummy', where dummy just pointed back to the same database. I still had some
errors and recompiling to do, but it was easier than the
alternative.

Why on earth would you want to do
that?? I mean I'm bored and all but it hasn't occurred to me to do
this!
