style='font-size:10.0pt'>From reading the instructions with 8.1.7.2.1 I had the impression that you had to move to 8.1.7.1.1 first and then 8.1.7.2 ? In any case, I had previously installed the Oracle Universal Installer that came with 8.1.7.0.0, and so I used that to apply the patch, because, like you, I was unable to run the "setup.exe" that came with the patchset. (Windows 2000 server)
