Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: I need to rename shares.
rmtshare.exe from the Resource kit allows command line creation of shares.
It doesn't seem to allow renaming but you could script it.
That is, rmtshare to get current permissions and parse this to create the
new commands
Then create the new share and then delete the old one.
There might be better ways.

I am looking for a utility or hack that can be used to rename an existing share in a Windows NT 4.0 environment.
We currently run with our users home directory shared and mapped. I want
to change the shares to be HIDDEN shares, which requires renaming them. I
could create a second share and delete the original one, but I don't want
to have to hassle with the permissions on all of the shares.
