this is not to bring up a heated debate over the two platforms...
I am making a proposal to move the current access 97 databases to an oralce
platform running solaris.... I would like to put in the proposal a brief
reason
why a UNIX platform will be better than a Windows platform.
the current environment:
MS Access 97 databases running on Compaq server. Databases are about 20GB
in
size...
proposed solution:
Sun E3500
T3 Storage Array
Solaris 8
Oracle 8i
Just need a couple FACTS as to why one would choose UNIX over Windows....
Thanks in advance....
