Hello all,

We are planning to create a standby database on another machine. I was going through metalink documents & was unable to find how i will keep it consistent. What my question is, do i only have to copy the archived log files generated from production db to standby db & apply them or is there any other steps that i have to perform.

Will it be a read only database since its a copy of production db ?

Should no activities be performed on it?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Salu
