Kimberley,

I use dbms_pipe to monitor errors my users encounter all the time. These pipes get created when the pipe is referenced first time. Then I just let it sit till the shutdown, sometimes few MB of data passes through these pipes (when tracing a session), but never had any problems (in 7.3 and now in 805).

Could you NOT remove the pipe and see if the problem goes away ...?
