Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Re: Relocate Tablespace
I think - Export/Import is the best way to do it.
You export all the users. Create the user in new production DB. Allocate the tablespace quota only for the respected data and index tablespaces. Import the user.
Remember, the user should not have unlimited tablespace privilege, otherwise, the default object will again go in SYSTEM tablespace.
HTH,
Hi DBAs,
I plan to redesign a database structure. Currently a production DB has all objects stored in SYSTEM tablespace. I want to move it to a new production DB (in a new server machine) while relocate user objects (tables, indexes, triggers, stored procedures, etc) to tablespaces different than SYSTEM. What is the safest way to do it?
Thanks in advance for your helps...
