ORA-03113 is not perilous. It simply means that communications between the
client and the server were lost. Check the alert_<SID>.log file for any
amplifying information. There may also be a trace file in the udump
directory. If there are
no errors you need to turn on sql*net tracing.
I'd like to have a more concise pointer to the metalink article which states that ORA-03113 errors are dangerous on NT or any other operating system. (There is of course the possibility that transactions were not committed because a program aborted.)

ORA-03113 IS A DANGEROUS ERROR.
THERE IS TWO SOLUTION.
1 RELINK ALL THE EXE. (LIKE USING MAKE). SEE METALINK TO NT.
2.REMOVE THE PREVIOUS CLIENT OR SERVER SOFTWARE AND REINSTALL.TAKE YOUR
BAKUP OF
THE DATABASE.

Dear all,
I am running Oracle 8.1.5 on Windows NT 4.0. I am getting the above error whenever I am changing any user's password or trying to drop the user when connected as sys or system user. Can anybody let me know the problem behind it? Any help in this regard will be very much appreciated.
TIA and regards,
Ranganath
