Richard,
  What is your system configuration?
OS.
MEMORY.
SGA SIZE.
The reason I ask is that a friend of mine has a server running NT with = 4GIG memory and SGA of 1.5GIG. In that configuration only 25 connections = were allowed. He reduced the SGA to 1 GIG and all the connections were = allowed. I have not heard the final resolution yet but I suspect it has = something to do with max SGA and memory usage on NT. Thanks,

Hi All,

Oracle 8.0.5,NT 4.0

I am getting the above error in trying to make new connects. I had = several
connections going,sql*plus,
pro*c program(been working for years, etc. After the pro*c program been running a couple of hours I got
the above error and all other connections are refused. These have been working in the past so I do not
know what is now causing. Of course I can bounce the server and I suspect = I
will be able to connect
but I would like to know what is causing it.

Thanks
