Subject: Personal Lab for study purposes...
Hi DBAs,
I think having a 'functional Oracle DBA lab' at home is useful thing.
Previously I got some 'Trial Pack' CDs or Oracle 7.x which I used to us=
e
for 90 days or so. I donot see those packs now.
I am planning to set up my own Oracle Server for non-commercial databas=
e
use. I donot need Oracle Support. This will be used by me alone and for=
studying purposes only.
I plan to purchase a new PC soon.
Based on this, I would like to know that can I do this thing legally?
Where are the 'Trial Packs' available these days? How long can I use
them? Any legal issues?
Any suggestions about OS? Planning to go for NT. Just because I want
the efforts to be concentrated on Oracle part. Other UNIX stuff I can
do on test machines at work which have good software and hardware
which would be impractical to purchase at home due to price.
Thanks and Regards,
-Rahul
