Most previous replies say to use ODBC if you don't want to do the flat-file/sql-loader thing.
In the old days (Oracle6, early Oracle7), Oracle provided a utility called DB3PREP.EXE (DOS/NETWARE). It would generate both .SQL and .CTL files.
