DBVerify & Empty Pages

Fellow DBA's:

We have recently upgraded from V8.0.4.3 to V8.0.6.2, OS is UNIX (COMPAQ Tru64 4.0e). I regularly run the DBVerify utility against all of the datafiles (generated by a hotbackup/disk mirror split). Prior to the upgrade I was seeing zero Empty pages. After the upgrade every datafile has empty pages. What has changed? Can I assume that Empty pages are nothing to panic over?
