Three days of arclogs? That would be a dream come true if you have the disk on your arclog destination.
You need to increase the size of your redologs significantly, to a size you are comfortable with. When I started here, our arclogs were 5MB. THey were switching as fast as shown below during loads. I since changed the size to 250MB and everything is peachy.

Subject: Too many archive log
Hi all,
My database has 2 redo log groups and each group has 3 members. Each members size is 1 meg each.
The problem is that archive logs are generated at a fast rate:
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:21 0000091001.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:21 0000091002.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:21 0000091003.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:22 0000091004.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:22 0000091005.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1050112 Oct 23 19:22 0000091006.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:22 0000091007.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:23 0000091008.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:23 0000091009.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1052672 Oct 23 19:23 0000091010.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:23 0000091011.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056256 Oct 23 19:24 0000091012.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:24 0000091013.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:24 0000091014.arc
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 1056768 Oct 23 19:24 0000091015.arc
Isnt it good practice to keep 3 days worth of archive logs on disk in case needed? If so, what is the best solutions for this high rate logs being generated so often?
Thanks in advance.
