regular maintenance jobs!!

hello everyone!!

i'm a young aspiring DBA in our company. i am currently maintaining a oracle db ver 7 on windows nt 4. I was given manuals by our senior dba (a Japanese) to study and work at , but i think they are not enough. Could anyone there give me additional materials to read on. I actually lack on some maintenance and performance tuning routines. I don't do much job here aside from checking that all applications are smooth running and support users (application-based). A list of the most common dba task (daily, monthly) would be enough for the mean time.
