Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Installing different versions of Oracle on NT server
Oracle 7 and Oracle 8.0.x can go into the same Oracle Home. My experience is
that Oracle Installer allows you to install the newer version first, though
I think it's always recomended to install the earlier version first.
Oracle 8.1.x (Oracle 8i) must go into an other Oracle Home.

Yes, it is possible.
Install the oldest version first.
You can only have one version of each release.
Install in this fashion:
volume label C: NT - OS D: Oracle E: OraData D:\Oracle Oracle Base
Oracle Homes:
D:\Oracle\Ora73 D:\Oracle\Ora80 D:\Oracle\Ora81 D:\Oracle\Admin\<dbname> config files E:\Oracle\Oradata\<dbname>\system01.dbf datafiles
This is how my workstation at work is configured.
