Which patch level of 8i (aka 8.1.x) have you been testing?
TIA,
Gerardo

'Hi listers,
I've been testing 8i with AIX 4.3.3 and so far haven't had mayor
complications.
Applications developed in Oracle work fine.
For applications that use ODBC to connect, we had to search for ODBC =
drivers
for Oracle8 because Oracle7 drivers didn't connect.
Besides that, we are already planning to migrate to this plataform of =
AIX
and Oracle.

Hi,=20
Depends on the aix level, there are a few (important) apar's, w've had =
no
problems (so far) with 8.1.6.1.0 on aix 4.3.2=20
But reseltly I've noticed a different behavior with user defined =
externaly.
When a progam (compiled on 7.3) connects to a (8.1.6) database with =
sqlplus
with no user /password is doesnot work anymore. It used to work but now =
it
seems than we need 'sqlplus /' to do the same thing.
We are running an designer repository and OEM (plus RMAN) on 8.1.6 and =
a
few small produktion databases.=20
