Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: archive log on
Try adding new logfiles using much larger sizes. Once you switch onto the
new ones and the old ones have been archived, you can drop them and recreate
those (if you wish) using a larger size.

Subject: archive log on
Hi Gurus,
I turned archive log on 2 days ago, I have script running via cronjob that
do a log switch every hour, that mean I suppose to
get an archive log file each hour. The problem is, I am getting too many
archive log files in the archive log dest. 20 archive files/hour
How could I cut the number of the archive log files generated.
