If you increase the size of your online redo log files. It will hold more
data in each file. And the archive log files count will decrease.
But at the same time, your size of archive log file will be bigger also.

Subject: archive log on
Hi Gurus,
I turned archive log on 2 days ago, I have script running via cronjob that
do a log switch every hour, that mean I suppose to
get an archive log file each hour. The problem is, I am getting too many
archive log files in the archive log dest. 20 archive files/hour
How could I cut the number of the archive log files generated.
We are using
Oracle 7.3.4.00
on Aix 4.3
redo log size 10M
log_checkpoint_interval= 20000
log_buffer=8192
db_block_buffer=550
