Transaction Lock

Hello..
A basic question : Suppose I issue a SELECT .. FOR UPDATE NO WAIT..statement , acquiring locks..Is there any condition apart from disconnect, Commit or rollback that the lock is released..? Is there any Lock holding TIMEOUT parameter,which would unlock row after the time mentioned?
