I don't know if it was intended, but the impression may have been given by the above comment that Oracle on Netware is on the way out since Oracleware (["enterprise"?] Oracle bundled with Netware) was not successfully marketed.

At least I assume that Oracleware is being discontinued for that reason. Does anyone actually know? Was having to get Oracleware through VARs a problem, or was it just not cost effective or practical for most Oracle Netware sites to get the Oracle at the same time as they got Netware? Was the bundled OS/RDBMS Oracleware tech support a joke?

Anyway, my personal opinion was that both Oracleware and OWS were mostly another example of Oracle marketing BS.

I'm sure that NT (server) environment is better than Netware for some Oracle sites and will improve (mature) rapidly as a product, but for the many existing Netware sites thinking about buying Oracle that don't want to buy into two server environments (and that also don't have to worry about scaling up later), I wouldn't think it's appropriate the scare them into thinking that Oracle will dump Netware as a supported RDBMS server platform in the near future.

If anyone has any specific info about Oracle intending to desupport enterprise Netware Oracle Server soon, please keep the list informed!

Thanks,
