I am a DBA working on a team to evaluate financial budgeting, forecasting,
and budget/forecast analysis tools. One of the tools we are considering is
Oracle's Express Financial Analyzer. Has anyone had experience
implementing this tool who would be willing to tell us:
- How long did it take to implement?
- Did you find it necessary to hire Oracle or third-party consulting to
accomplish configuration/implementation or were you able to accomplish
this with in-house staff?
- Do you feel the support you have and are receiving from Oracle is good?
- Do your financial users like the product and find it easy to use?
- If you were to choose again today, would you still select Express?
- Are you drilling down into any detail data from an Oracle database,
such as a data warehouse? If so, how difficult was it to implement this
functionality?
- Did you implement Express on a separate database server or on the same
box with some other Oracle database, such as a general ledger or a data
warehouse.
Any other comments you feel might be useful to us in making our assessment
would be welcomed. We are additionally evaluating Hyperion's Pillar and
Comshare, so answers to the above questions from anyone who has implemented
one of these products would be appreciated also.
