Hi Leng,
In respone to:

this ok?
We use logical volumes for data and export files, no problems for the past five
years.
The volumes are also shadowed.
Running VMS 5.4 and Oracle 6.0.34 and 7.016.
Our export is slow as well but since we are not running 24X7 it has not been a
problem.
We do nightly incrementals and weekly completes.
Our v7 database has 4.1 gigs of allocated and 2.8 gigs of used space which
takes
10 hours to export. The resulting export file is 1 gig.
I have been around at the end of a complete export and there seems to be a 2
hour
phase once the all table data has been exported and it does:
. exporting referential integrity constraints
. exporting triggers
. exporting synonyms
. exporting views
. exporting default and system auditing options
I would like to know what is going on during this phase. With 70000 synonyms, 1700 views and 35 triggers we do not use table auditing there must be more going on here?
